The only two people more annoying than the current WILK crowd are Webster and Miller.

Webster and Miller, that's got a ring to it! I think "Stan" has some issues, love to be the fly on that IP address!

If his contract is up and he can leave 107 and does, they're screwed. In the morning anyway. Hear the show without Webster today? Case in point. Flipped to Nancy and Kevin. Couldn't take that either. Flipped to Froggy. Couldn't take that either but then I was at work.

Seriously, the difference between yesterday when he wasn't there and Daniels didn't say a word that didn't sound like he was reading it versus today was stark.

This is nothing new. Like I said back on page 1 of this thread, Webster's been the show ever since I can remember. If he goes they might just as well fold up the tent. Who'd listen to what's left?

The latest numbers tell the story. Rock 107 is in a death roll. WILK came on strong and for whatever reason then cooled. It's obvious that Johnny has had more than enough of the TS coolaid and he's burned out there. He and WILK would be a breath of fresh air if they got together. Now, the fact that the PD is also half of the current morning show at WILK could be an issue. Nancy could be a hero to Entercom though. Step aside and concentrate on management and fill in where necessary, find another place within the company to utilize Kevin's valuable talents, and welcome a breath of fresh air in the form of John and Ruth. Maybe John,Ruth and Kevin?

I hope they go to WILK. AS it stands now they're being wasted. Cheesy contests that go on and on, nothing to speak of in terms of promotions. TS is in tough shape and it sounds it. I don't subscribe but I know the size of the Times has shrunk. They're actually using smaller paper because it's cheaper. Webster (and Ruth) would be great on a talk station. I don't listen because there's music on the radio. I like people, talking, interesting topics and not the same old ten songs over and over.

Michael Jordan with the Washington Wizards. Kelsey Grammar after Frasier. Joe Namath with the LA Rams. Babe Ruth with the Boston Braves. Harry West after WARM. Webster after Rock 107.

That reads as if it were written by an also-ran or perhaps a never-was. Just sayin'. Good post!

Hey, this is going over here too! It's also on the NEPA Media board. That's pretty funny. Thanks!

Clever if it applied but you're missing the point. D&W, for better or worse, is a brand in NEPA. W goes I'm not saying that's lights out for the station but they are most definitely starting from Square One, most obviously in the AM and the ripple will be felt throughout the day. It's the radio market 70 (?) equivalent of taking the Coca out of the Cola. Meantime, Webster isn't/wasn't the franchise in the traditional sense to begin with but if you've listened to the show you know he was the engine of that show and with an engine, in theory all you have to do is hook it up to a different vehicle. Webster is something ON Rock 107, they're not connected at the hip. You don't need Webster AND Bob Seger in order to work. And if he leaves he'd be what he is ON another station. Then 107 would be left trying to rearrange the pieces and all the pieces in the world without an engine are by definition, scrap. And that doesn't even address the psychological aspect of making a long established and long standing brand suddenly non-existent. And while the engine would then be running in another vehicle, maybe that vehicle goes faster maybe it goes slower than the previous one but it without a doubt still goes. And if the new vehicle owner is happy with the speed?

Why is everyone so afraid of change? 107 could use some new blood and new music.

I think what this poster meant is that it ain't ever the same when you pull apart the pieces. No matter who the engine is. Would 107 be hurt without Webster? Absolutley, but I think history has shown that personalities who leave the place where they became successfull often never gain that level of success again. Michael Jordan with the Washington Wizards. Kelsey Grammar after Frasier. Joe Namath with the LA Rams. Babe Ruth with the Boston Braves. Harry West after WARM. Webster after Rock 107. Have to agree though "often" is the key word here.
And as Hopper and some other posts further back pointed out, maybe he's just burned out where he is with 107 in a "death roll" and maybe no one's hoping to capture lightning in a bottle twice, maybe if it's true and he is leaving he's just looking for a breath of fresh air before his present circumstances blow up altogether. If it were me I'd be thinking "live to fight another day" is better than "crash and burn".
