For discussion: wILK announces that Nancy and Kevin will be on TV for an hour on Fox 56. Is this just more evidence of the homogenizing effect that the internet has had on "traditional" media? Is it an example of "traditional media" trying to hold ground against a much larger threat (the internet) than it has ever had to fight?

Over-analyzed. It's WILK saying, "Can't hurt to be on TV", and 56 saying, "What's cheap that we can put on at that hour since the Swivel Sweeper infomercial flight has ended?" Cross-promotion, plain and simple.

I would imagine that there are a lot more listeners who hear Nancy and Kevin on the radio in their cars on the way to work than there are listeners sitting at home listening to a radio. Who does that?
So, if that's true (and it's only a guess), if you're home in the morning and not listening to them, why would you be watching them?

It was awful. Cheap looking. Two people talking. Public access is more exciting.

It is complete amateur hour. And putting faces with the voices, I have now stopped listening to the radio show. If they want to be on a multi sensory input medium then they have to do more than talk and cut to a wide shot once in a while. It is bad TV. And neither one of them has the presence for television. Nancy's voice goes sing song during the 7 o'clock hour and Kevin's effeminate facials expressions and arm flailing just looks idiotic.

You know I want to like it, but it just sucks. I tried to watch it again. I saw this over on another posting and the person who re-posted said it hit the nail on the head. I think I have to agree:
I saw this on another board and I think it hits the nail on the head:
I have been a regular listener to WILK, but lately the product has become stale. You hear the same callers almost daily and on all the programs. I swear there are days this Duke from Dallas calls all 3 shows every day for a week. Same with Kurt from Scranton. I know not everyone that listens, calls in. But the repetition has gotten old. And if callers are limited instead of being radio pros and providing insight and commentary they BEG for callers. The callers are the worst part of talk radio. Rush, Stern, Savage, Hannity, Imus and even the car talk guys among many other big names understand that listeners are not tuning in to listen to a bunch of henyas enthrall us with how little they know. These folks don't get that good talk shows are NOT caller driven, they ARE host driven. The only problem is none of the WILK hosts have any talent. They don't do any production work. No pre produced skits or parodies that get the point across and entertain as well. This might be why the rumor of them courting Webster might be true. Can you imagine local talk with someone who actually understands radio and is talented enough to be at or near the top for so long? A person who not only understands the local area and issues, but has the chops to pull of a real radio program? Get rid of the hum drum grouchy Kevin Lynn, send Saintly Sue to a nunnery and get some real talent. Keep Corbett, but start doing air checks with the guy; for God's sake at least teach him how to enunciate a word.

A person who not only understands the local area and issues, but has the chops to pull of a real radio program? It seems any talent that Webster had is long gone. He is a bore. Recycled 107 stuff with the Beer Buzz and the coffee lady. It is sad, I no longer listen. I had high hopes for good local talk radio. I guess this small a market can't attract talented talkers.

Hi. I was unhappy that the nepa media blog site got busted -- would still like to know why. In any case, I am gonna try to start one because I hate the Connor's of the world getting a free pass (see below). If you could join me at pamedia.proboards.com that'd be great, I'd really appreciate it and if you could spread the word! Maine Today Lays off Dozens of Press Herald Employees 10/13/2011 05:15 PM ET CEO Richard Connor cites the poor economy and shrinking ad revenues as reasons for the layoffs, which he says will mostly affect the news/editorial department. Maine Today CEO Richard Connor says the media company is laying off 38 full- and part-time employees at the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. In a statement released today, Connor says the affected employees were told today that they will be losing their jobs in two weeks. Connor cites the poor economy and a decline in newspaper ad revenues as reasons for the layoffs. He says another 23 full- and part-time employees have agreed to voluntary buyouts. Connor says most departments at the newspaper will be affected, but most of the cuts are being made in the news/editorial department. He says full-time employees who are laid off get two weeks of severance pay for every year of employment. In addition to the Press Herald layoffs, three employees at the Waterville Morning Sentinel and the Kennebec Journal have opted for voluntary layoffs, but there were no involuntary layoffs at the central Maine papers.

Well, it looks like, after 1001 threads about Connors, the Lynetts, Murphy, Beaupre, Allison Walzer, Iseman, Webster and Lewis, The Wiz, Jen Marckini, Kelly, the other Kelly, Borys, Ed Christine, Steve Corbett, The Wiz again, etc. etc. etc....The discussion board got taken down because of a discussion about Wendy Butler. RIP NEPA Media News and Gossip! Long live THE WIZ!
